Day 3 – Hollywood Studios

We slept in this morning and then took another walk through Downtown Disney before driving over to the Beach Club to park and have lunch at the Big River Grille on the Boardwalk. This is such a great place for a quiet, relaxed lunch. It was another perfect weather day, so we took an outside table and watched the Friendship boats cross the lagoon and the activity along the Boardwalk. I had the chicken and cashew salad and a glass of Beringer merlot and Rick had a burger with a glass of Steamboat ale. After that we took a Friendship over to the Studios.

The crowds were quite light. We walked right onto the Tower of Terror, watched the energetic – and loud – Block Party Bash, rode The Great Movie Ride, walked through the refurbished One Man’s Dream exhibit and saw the Beauty and the Beast stage show and MuppetVision 3-D. A first for us this time was the American Idol Experience. The three contestants were all quite good and it was a fun re-creation of the TV show.

Our main reason for going to this park today was to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights which began last night and will run through the holidays. The display was pretty much the same as it was last year, but it’s always fun and a good way to welcome in the season. After we saw the lights dance we called it an early night and spent the rest of the evening relaxing in our studio.
