Going Home

We're at the Orlando airport waiting for our Southwest flight back to Manchester, NH. Flying home in the evening allowed us almost a full extra day of vacation. We spent it at Epcot. First we had breakfast at the Sunshine Seasons Food Fair in The Land in Future World, then we wandered around looking at the many topiaries and gardens created for the Flower and Garden Festival. My favorite was the butterfly garden.

We finally got to see the Jammitors. I've been reading about this comedy percussion troupe in other people's trip reports for years, but for some reason we never were in the right place at the right time to see them before. They do a high-energy performance on trash cans and garden tools.

When we left Future World we took a Friendship across to the World Showcase and went to the America pavilion to see the fifes and drums and Voices of Liberty perform. We had lunch there, watched the movie in France, looked at the display of tin toys in the Japan pavilion and browsed in their store. Epcot wasn't at all crowded today and everyone seemed to be relaxed and taking their time. It was a really nice end to a terrific vacation.

When it was time to leave, we took a last sail on a Friendship launch back to the Beach Club, got our luggage, and waited for the Magical Express to take us back to the airport.

All the photos from our trip are on Flickr.
